Code 3 Lighting
Design Problem:
When designing the brand for Code 3 Lighting, I faced the challenge of balancing festive appeal with year-round professionalism - especially given the unique combination of firefighting and Christmas light installation, which at first felt like an unusual pairing. The company specializes in holiday lighting but also offers exterior lighting services throughout the rest of the year.
I needed to create a look that captured the warmth and magic of the Christmas season without locking the brand into seasonal clichés. The solution was a sharp, modern identity with subtle nods to Christmas, using clean lines, a bold color palette, and minimalistic iconography that could flex between festive marketing and off-season service promotions.
When necessary, I incorporated Christmas light textures to bring the brand more fully into the holiday context and provided the option to remove the more masculine fireman imagery in Christmas-specific applications. This dual-purpose design allows Code 3 to shine during the holidays and maintain credibility as a professional lighting service year-round.
